SAINTS, OTHERS LINKED WITH MORENO

Southampton are one of four British teams interested in a move for Santiago Moreno. Moreno plays his club football for America de Cali in Colombia. The interest of the Saints in the player was revealed via a report from Football Insider.

Apart from Southampton, other British teams such as Leeds United, Rangers and Norwich City are keen on the attacking player. It was also disclosed that his Colombian club values Moreno at £5m.

Leeds United and Rangers were first linked with the player before the transfer rumoursinvolving the player moving to Southampton was reported. Newly promoted Premier League outfit Norwich City are the latest team keen on a summer move for Moreno.

It was revealed by the aforementioned report that Moreno could be a possible replacement for star player Emiliano Buendiawho has been touted as a potential transfer target for both Aston Villa and Arsenal in the Premier League.

Argentine star Buendia was undoubtedly the best player in the English Championship this season as he helped Norwich City to return to the English top flight after one season in the second. Norwich City won one of the two automatic slots for promotion thanks to the quality shown by Buendia. He scored 15 goals plus 16 assists for the Canaries who won the English Championship title this term ahead of Watford.

Buendia has become a top target for Arsenal who are in the market for an attacking midfielder with Martin Odegaard likely to stay at Real Madrid ahead of the new season. Odegaard impressed in the colours of the Gunners whom he joined from Real Madrid in January and it was expected that the Norwegian international will return to the Emirates Stadium either on another loan deal or a permanent transfer but the exit of manager Zinedine Zidane at Madrid has changed the situation. Odegaard is said to be ready to fight for his place under a new manager.
